dutch designer/art director
:-less about communication
:-more about concept and aesthetic
has a very fashion based voice.
:-ideas fundamental to her work. free thinking.
:-like the industrial aesthetic in her work. espescially in empty rooms, with bold type to contrast.
:-always uses photography for her work, forces a tactile quality onto it.

By turning the books around, I wanted to make an ‘anti-library’ (information, being the quintessential feature of the library, turns into disinformation). At the same time another kind of information becomes apparent: the wear and tear of the books tells us much about their individual journey.Commissioned by Frame Magazine":::::::::::::::::http://www.framemag.com/:::::::::::::::::

::::"In this campaign for the Utrecht School of the Arts, 9 qualities, necessary to succeed as a good artist, were determined. A future student would either have them, or be willing to develop them during their education. These qualities are character, dedication, boldness, imagination, passion, ambition, ideas, fun, talent.Commissioned by: 178 Aardige Ontwerpers"::::::

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::These pictures were part of a marketing campaign for the Utrecht School of the Arts. Quotations by world famous personalities painted on big cardboard cubes reflect the ambitions of both the school itself and its (future) students. At the same time, these pictures try to give an impression of the diversity of the School building.Commissioned by the utrecht school of art.::::::::::::::::

"The two senior designers from Designpolitie chose their favourite pieces from their collection of printed documents accumulated over the years. The “living” image of a print proof is used as a promotional poster for a major printing company. This year’s theme is ‘the love of printed matter’.Commissioned by the Designpolitie "

For the cover of the FOAM Album 07 which looks back over 2007 at the Amsterdam Museum of Photography (FOAM), I manually cut the numbers 0 and 7 out of all the pictures that were to be printed in the book. The result was two piles of around 500 pictures each. At the top and bottom of these piles, I put two images taken in the museum itself,
literally cutting through the museum’s 2007 activities and putting them back into their exhibition space, which the book reflects.Commissioned by Vandejong and Museum of Photography Amsterdam FOAM.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::Happy Days Sound Festival 2007 was taking place in the biggest shopping mall in Oslo, under the motto ‘contemporary music for the ordinary man’. We set out to make a poster that honors the traditional supermarket calligraphy to reflect the combination of culture and commerce. The shopping mall was hoping to gain cultural capital with the festival, and ironically found the poster being too commercial. It was used to announce the festival in the city, but Ny Musikk was denied hanging it in the mall.

:-like the way that this studio displays some of its work. The environment that they choose compliments and appropriate to the piece. Doing this clues up the reader making them instantly aware their intentions. Its also a show of their creativity, and clever thinking. It also shows that they have fun with their work.
